To Be or Not To Be…

I’m talking about being a SAHM. If I’m the only to decide, I’d go for being a SAHM. I know it won’t be easy, and I really have high regard to my friends who were sahm’s and I know it will be a challenge for me especially the cooking part hehe! But I really want to be a sahm. Especially now that we’re having yaya dilemmas. As mentioned here, my brother is planning to get my ever dependable nanny/helper and looks like the plans will push thru. And again, I don’t know if I can trust whoever will replace her, lalo na they will be left alone in the house. We’re not like others kasi who has relatives to look after them eh. My parents are both abroad; Paul’s parents are both deceased na and there’s really no one to rely on. This is really giving me sleepless nights and I still don’t know what to do. I’ve been praying and asking God for guidance and I know He’ll answer my prayers. I do hope when the time comes that we have to decide na, we’ll be ready.

Lance At The Office

Last December, I brought Lance to my office since I only have 1 nanny. Good thing our office is not too strict in allowing employees to bring their children. I equipped myself and brought food, toys, coloring books and whatever can make him comfortable while he’s in the office. So Monday, he was ok pa since he’s excited. The challenge was when we have to leave and go to our Benpres office for the thanksgiving mass. Our President required the management team to attend the mass so I have to go. Lance doesn’t want to ride the service vehicle and only wants to ride our car. He was crying the whole time and was saying he wants to ride tita’s car. I don’t want to bring a car in going to Benpres so we ended up riding a taxi with two of my officemates.

When we got to benpres, luckily he was behaved during the mass and did not cry. We also had lunch there and he ate naman the food that was given to us. It was then that I learned that he likes inasal chicken hehe!

After lunch we went back to our QC office. He was just playing but became bored in the afternoon na. See how bored he is.

On the second day, I had a problem because I have a meeting. I asked lang my officemates to check on him because I just left him sitting in the chair watching videos. During the meeting, one of my officemates knocked on the conference room because Lance was looking for me. I went to see him and I asked what he wants, and he just said that he wants to watch another video. So I played to video and told him to just watch and I’ll be back as soon as the meeting is over. And when I came back, I was shocked because our VP for Finance was the one taking care of him. Lance was sitting on her lap and she was watching the video with him. Hehe!

Lunch time, our boss said we’ll eat out for she will treat the group for lunch. And so I have another problem again. Lance again doesn’t want to ride any vehicle other than our car. Buti na lang, he loves trucks. I told him that we will ride the truck, truck meaning our company’s L300 service hehehe! We went to trinoma and again he was behaved. He ate the food that I was giving him and he was ok with it. When he was done eating, he ran around lang and stopped naman when I told him we are leaving na. Here he is on the 2^nd day, talking to his dad and played with our party decors.

The third day was the most difficult. He doesn’t want to stay inside the office anymore and prefers playing on the parking lot. It was hot outside so I don’t him to stay there and play. He ended up crying and pooped on his diaper. When I can’t convince him to stay anymore, I just told him we’ll have lunch then we’ll go home. Here he is on the third day, after he changed clothes because he pooped. Comfortable already just wearing sando and diapers hehe.

So my third day was spent on half day only and we went home na. He also had cough when we got home because of too much crying and also maybe because he was tired and don’t get sleep in the afternoon. During that time, whenever I asked him to go with me to the office, he answers me with “ayaw”. Hehe! I guess it will take some time before he goes with me to the office again.

How was you Saturday? Ours was spent here at home. The kids woke up late this morning for they slept late last night watching tv. The nannies did their household chores so Paul and I bonded with the kids. We just watched tv, play, read and eat. And now, both are asleep already, which is good since we have to wake up early tomorrow to hear mass. I just finished watching Sherlock Holmes and here I am now reading something about pond fountains and reading emails too while Paul is playing on his cellphone. Tomorrow after mass, I’ll go to the market to buy our food for the week and I don’t know if Paul has plans for us to go to the mall. That’s about it. Hope you had a wonderful Saturday.

I was chatting with my brother this morning, just the usual kumustahan, asking us how we’re doing especially the kids. I told him we’re doing great and everything’s ok. Then he said things are doing ok on their end too except that they need a nanny for their youngest child when my sis-in-law goes to school again this June. I heard about it already since my aunt told me that my brother asked him if she can go to NZ come June. Unfortunately she can’t since she’s looking after my cousins’ kids in Tandang Sora. And this is where I’ll be having a problem.

My brother told me that they’re asking his MIL to look for a replacement for Ate Rose (Lance’s nanny and our ever dependable helper) since they might get her this June. I was shocked when I heard that because I did not know that they’re considering her na, coz I heard before that since my aunt can’t make it, they might ask either my mom or dad to stay with them for a few months. But my parents can’t visit them yet for some reason that is why they’re considering Ate Rose. I can’t say no naman to them since Ate Rose was with them for 10 years and I got her lang when they migrated to NZ. And we had an agreement that they will get Ate Rose in due time.

So if their plans will push thru, I’ll have a very big problem. First, Lance will start schooling by June and since both Paul and I are working, Ate Rose will bring him to and from school. And if we will have a new nanny, I am hesitant to entrust my son to her. Second, Ate Rose is the one who cooks in the house. And if she will leave, who will cook for us? Does it mean now’s the time that I should really learn how to cook? I remember when we don’t have a nanny/helper during the holidays. It was Paul who’s in-charge of the kitchen since I really don’t have a thing for cooking. haayy… Third, I am not worried whenever I go to work if I leave my kids with the nannies only since I know I can trust Ate Rose. That even if Hannah’s nanny is new, she can still see if the nanny is really taking care of Hannah. If we will have a new nanny, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to leave my kids to them while I’m at work with no other relative to accompany them at home. Haayyy….

My google reader is now down to zero! I subscribed to several blogs and there was a time when my unread feeds reached 1000+ for I was not able to read for a long time. But last week, I had spare time that I was able to read blog posts and marked others as read even if I haven’t read it yet hehe! Several topics I read were about shopping (my favorite topic!), travel, technology updates, home improvements like there’s one blog that talks about replacement of windows and tiles of her home, photography, fashion and a lot more. I enjoyed reading their blog entries for I get to learn about different things and for my friends’ blogs, I am now updated as to what’s going on with their lives.

Apple recently launched it’s newest gadget, the iPad. And I want to have one!!! I’ve been thinking of buying a netbook for the longest time but still haven’t bought myself one. Could this be the reason why? hehe! Paging Paul, this is a perfect birthday gift.
